Backlog
The Backlog contains all tasks in a project that are not yet assigned to a sprint. It is the starting point for sprint planning — you review the backlog, decide what to work on next, and drag tasks into an upcoming sprint. Tasks in the backlog are ordered by priority. You control that order by dragging tasks up and down within the list.Viewing the backlog
Open the Backlog view from the top navigation bar in your project. The view shows:- All tasks with no sprint assignment, sorted by their current order
- Upcoming sprints in a panel on the right — each sprint shows its date range, story point total, and task count
- A filter bar at the top for narrowing the list
| Filter | Options |

| Type | Task, Bug, Story, Epic, or custom types |
| Priority | Critical, High, Medium, Low, None |
| Assignee | Any team member or Unassigned |

Prioritizing
The order of tasks in the backlog represents their relative priority. Tasks at the top are the highest priority and should be the first candidates for the next sprint. To reprioritize, drag tasks up or down within the backlog list. The order is saved automatically. There is no limit to the size of the backlog. Over time, it is good practice to review the backlog regularly and remove or defer tasks that are no longer relevant.Assigning tasks to a sprint
Select the tasks to move
In the Backlog view, check the checkbox on one or more tasks. You can select tasks from anywhere in the list.
Assign to a sprint
Drag the selected tasks to the target sprint in the right panel. Alternatively, right-click a task and choose Assign to Sprint, then select the sprint from the dropdown.
Creating a sprint from the backlog
Click + Create Sprint
Click + Create Sprint above the sprint panels on the right side of the Backlog view.
Add tasks
Drag tasks from the backlog list into the new sprint panel, or create tasks directly in the sprint.
Start the sprint when ready
When you are ready to begin, click Start Sprint on the sprint card. See Sprints for the full sprint lifecycle.
Tasks without a start date or due date still appear in the backlog. The Roadmap only shows tasks that have at least one of those dates set. If you want a task to appear on the timeline, open it and set its start or due date.
