Space settings let Space Owners configure how a space looks, which modules are active, and who has access. Open them by navigating to your space and clicking the gear icon or Settings in the space sidebar. Only Space Owners can access space settings. Admins at the instance level also have access to all spaces.

General settings

The General tab controls the space’s identity and visibility. Click Save after making any changes.
The space slug (the short identifier used in all URLs) is set at creation time and cannot be changed. Changing it would break all existing links to content in this space.

Members

The Members tab lets you invite individual users or entire groups and assign their space role.

Inviting an individual member

1

Open Space Settings → Members

Click Add Member.
2

Search for the user

Type a name or email address. Only users who already have a Collabase account appear in the results.
3

Assign a space role

Choose Space Admin, Manager, Member, or Viewer. See Permissions for a breakdown of what each role can do.
4

Click Add

The user immediately gains access to the space with the selected role.

Granting access to a group

Instead of inviting users one by one, you can grant access to an entire group. All current and future members of the group automatically inherit the space role you assign.
1

Click Add Group in the Members tab

Select the group from the dropdown. Groups are managed under Admin → Groups.
2

Assign a space role

Choose the role for all members of this group.
3

Click Save

Group membership is applied immediately. Adding or removing users from the group automatically updates their access to this space.

Changing or removing a member

  • To change a member’s role, use the role dropdown on their row and save.
  • To remove a member, click the remove button on their row. The user immediately loses access to the space and its content.

Permissions

The Permissions tab lets you assign a Permission Scheme to the space and configure per-member roles.

Permission Scheme

A Permission Scheme defines what Managers, Members, and Viewers can do across all modules in this space. One scheme applies to the whole space.
1

Open Space Settings → Permissions

The current scheme is shown at the top of the tab.
2

Select a scheme

Choose from the available schemes in the dropdown. Collabase ships with four built-in schemes (Open, Default Software, Client / Read-only, Restricted / Confidential) plus any custom schemes created by your admin.
3

Save

The new scheme takes effect immediately for all members of the space.
Only Space Admins and instance Admins can change the Permission Scheme for a space.
Custom schemes are created and managed under Admin → Permission Schemes. See Permissions for a full breakdown of what each scheme allows.

Modules

The Modules tab (sometimes shown as Apps) lets you enable or disable modules within this space. Disabling a module hides it from the space sidebar for all members. Existing data is preserved — re-enabling the module restores full access to everything that was there before.

AI settings

AI is configured for the whole instance, not per space. An administrator selects the provider and the model under Admin → Settings → AI settings, and every space uses it. See AI Configuration.

Notifications

The Notifications tab controls space-level notification defaults. Individual users can further customize their preferences from their own profile.

Danger zone

The Danger zone tab contains irreversible actions.

Archive space

Archiving makes the space read-only and hides it from the active space list. No content is deleted. Archived spaces can be restored from Admin → Spaces.

Delete space

Deleting a space is permanent and cannot be undone. All content in the space — pages, tasks, test cases, automations, registry objects, and member assignments — is permanently deleted. Only the Space Owner can delete a space.
Before deleting, export or back up any content you want to keep. Once deleted, there is no recovery unless you restore from a database backup (see Backup & Restore).
1

Open Space Settings → Danger zone

Click the Delete Space button.
2

Type the space name to confirm

Enter the exact space name in the confirmation field to prevent accidental deletion.
3

Click Delete

The space and all its content is permanently removed.
